If you seek to escape the City for a while, “Waldspielpark Goetheturm” might be just right for you. Located just outside the city, behind Sachsenhauen, you will find a park roughly sized around 2,8 hectares.
Initially the Park was named after the 43 meters tall tower that could be found in the middle of the park, unfortunately the tower burned down on the 3th November in 2017. Luckily there are Plans to rebuild the Tower in the likes of the original, but construction has yet to be started. Once it is completed you will be able to have a great few over the skyline of Frankfurt and its green belt again.
However, the surrounding Park is still worth a visit even without the Tower. Even though the area belongs to Frankfurt, it is very quiet and well embedded within the green belt surrounding Frankfurt. Since its surrounded by threes the climate is a lot cooler which makes for a nice cool of, especially in summer. It can be easily reached by car or with the Bus lines 30, 36, 954, 960, 961, 962, 963, the Stop is called: “Sachsenhäuser Warte”. If you come by car the parking is called “Parkplatz am Wendelsweg”
It features an adventure playground, several slights, a garden labyrinth and a water park which makes it perfect for little kids and families a like. Unfortunately, it is not possible to bring your dog.
The water park was built in 1956, the main attraction is a water vaporiser field as well as a shallow pool which is suited for little children.
The water park opens by from a temperature above 22 degrees Celsius and sunshine.
